Jen Ashcraft

Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland

Jen Ashcraft is the Chief Operating Officer at Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland. Since joining the council in 2014, Jen has taken on progressive leadership roles across several departments. In her role as COO, she collaborates across all functional teams and provides strategic leadership in the areas of community engagement, troop formation and support, volunteer development, and the implementation of program and summer camp.

In addition to her council leadership, she has participated in two national committees to provide training and mentorship to peers in other councils and to update resources that elevate the highest awards. Jen earned the Girl Scout Gold Award in August 1996 from the Wichita Area Girl Scout Council. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education with a math endorsement from Newman University with Magna Cum Laude honors and has nine years of experience as a classroom teacher. Jen has been a leader and mentor within Girl Scouts both as a youth and adult. She knows how to make Girl Scouts fun, takes ownership of projects to see them to completion, respects individuals for who they are, communicates with stakeholders, and she strives to design creative solutions that enhance the girl experience to drive membership growth and retention.

Shelly Westfall

Legacy Ministries, Inc.

Shelly has served Legacy as its Executive Director since 2019. She holds a Master’s Degree from

Tabor College in Ministry, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. Her experience includes over 20

years in business management and consulting, as well as seven years in church-related ministry.

“I was drawn to Legacy for several reasons. I have had the opportunity to love and support a

number of ‘bonus kids’ as I was raising my own children, some of whom were marginalized and

lacked resources and support in various ways. Legacy’s commitment to building relationships

with teens and providing them with jobs and community spoke to me as a powerful way to

stand in the gaps that many of our youth experience. It felt like the missing piece to a complex

puzzle. This work has allowed me to engage innovatively in business development, support

local teens, and to live out my faith in ways that continue to blow my mind and inspire my soul

every day. I’m incredibly proud of this work, this team, and the youth that engage in this

program!”
